SHIFTER BRACKET BUSHING INFO |
|
WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?
Notice how
this fool attached the shifter bracket to his transmission by using
some flat washers instead of the proper bushings. |
 |
|
THE PROBLEMS THIS WILL CAUSE
When the
bracket is bolted on like this the bracket is not being held on
center. This causes the shifter cables to be in the wrong
position and will cause the transmission to not shift correctly.
|
 |
|
THE PROPER BUSHING FOR THE
JOB
The correct way to attach the bracket to the
transmission is to use the factory bushing, part # MD723290 and
cost $2.10 each.
You will need 4 of them. |
 |
|
WHAT THIS BUSHING DOES FOR
YOU
The bushing takes up the space in the bracket, holding
the bracket concentric to the bolts that go into the case. |
 |
|
WHY YOU NEED THEM
These bushings are what holds the bracket in the
proper position so that your shifter cables will be in where they need
to be so your transmission will shift correctly. |
