This is the part inside your transfer case that gets all torn up when your stock front diff destroys the spider gears or when you trashed the ring & pinion.

This is the revised parts kit to correct your grinding 2nd gear in the EVO. It features a triple synchro 2nd gear will allow you to upshift into 2nd gear at much higher rpms/vehicle speeds.

Inspect your hub for wear; there should be no signs of seizing or abnormal wear. Check the engagement teeth for damage & wear. If the transmission crunches while shifting into 1st or 2nd you will most likely need this part and the synchros.
