AWD REAR DIFFERENTIAL SERVICES 

JDM EVO-III LIMITED SLIP REAR DIFFERENTIAL

 

Up for grabs are some genuine Mitsubishi JDM  EVO-III 4 spider limited slip rear differentials. This differential is a clutch plate type limited slip we can install them into any manual or automatic transmissioned 90-99 AWD DSM, either a 3 or 4 bolt type*. This unit works much better than the crappy viscous coupling rear diffs that are found in the USDM DSMs and it will provide much improved traction and superior handling characteristics. TRE makes several improvements that increase the overall durability of the rear diff assembly making it reliable for drag racing.

 

This service includes:

  • magnaflux inspection of differential carrier housing and bearing caps

  • magnaflux inspection of ring & pinion and spider gearset

  • shot peening of ring & pinion

  • shot peening of spider gearset

  • new pinion & carrier bearings

  • new shim kit for preload of both pinion shaft and carrier housing

  • adjustment of the spider gearset backlash

  • adjustment of ring & pinion for high torque applications

  • new pinion shaft and axles shaft oil seals

  • a heavy coat of satin black paint so it looks like new again

  • new fill plug

  • new drain plug

  • modified side sheaves & cross shaft

  • new carrier cap bolts

  • new rear cover bolts

  • new HD side cover is optional. $265.

  • new HD pinion spacer is optional.

* Requires the driver's side axle stub to be replaced with a passenger side axle stub or replace the whole driver's side axle with a non-lsd 4-bolt axle.
