TRANSMISSION EXCHANGE PROGRAM & CORE POLICY

TRE realizes that there are those who need to get  their car back on the road fast and don't have time or a spare car to use while your transmission is being built. Not a problem, we have EXCHANGE transmissions in stock and can ship them immediately. We can ship you one of our pre-built exchange transmissions to your location so you can have it ready and waiting for you, allowing you to swap in the new transmissions all in the same day or at your convenience, saving you both time and money.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

• Let's say you decided to purchase an AWD transmission, a STAGE 1.5 EXCHANGE.

• The up front amount you will be paying is the price of $1050 + $300 core charge = $1350.

• The cost of Shipping & Insurance to send the transmission anywhere in the 48 states is $95.

• When you send your transmission back for the core refund, place your transmission inside the box that your new transmission was delivered in and contact us.

• A return shipping charge of $95 is deducted from the core charge.

• We can arrange a pick-up through Fedex . Have the transmission ready because Fedex stops by early.

• Core refunds are sent back after we receive your transmission.

We must have your old transmission core returned in a rebuildable condition. Otherwise we would have no units to exchange. In order to encourage you to make a timely return, we invoice you for the price of the rebuilt unit, PLUS we invoice you for the value of the core. The core charge is refunded to you once we have inspected it.

A core return must be returned in 60 days from date on your invoice. We reserve the right to refuse the return of any core that is over 90 days past due date. If you need special consideration for the return of your core, you must arrange an extended core agreement at the time of purchase but really 90 days should be plenty of time.

A core refund is not issued until we complete the inspection of your core transmission. This may take up to 30 days after we receive your core but is usually refunded within 1 week.

Understand that we don't expect your core to be perfect but it must be a useable core so that we can build it for the next guy. 

Some of the guidelines are:

Broken or cracked case, housing or casting, spun bearing in case
Ring and pinion not reusable
Damage to 5th gearset and/or center differential outer gear
Burnt or flooded units
Transmissions that have been ran low on oil
Excessive gear and/or shaft damage
Missing components

Core deductions will be applied to the above items from your core only if they are not in rebuildable or usable condition. We are very fair when it comes to what is acceptable and what deductions if any need to be make.

TRE will call or e-mail you an explanation of any core reductions
At this time we are not accepting multiple cores, one core per transmission please.
The cost of the return shipping ($95) will be deducted from the core refund.
You may request the return of damaged parts for inspection (at your expense), photos of the parts are free.
TRE's main goal is to remanufacture your core for the next customer, your core must be a useable core.
If a core is badly damaged to rebuild, it is of little use to us.  Understand that if you are send back a transmission that was ran out of oil or driven till it wouldn't drive any further it's probably not worth the cost of shipping it back.
