The STAGE 2 EXCHANGE This transmission features gear detail work that improves the durability of the transmission. Here are some before & after photos. More before & after photos. Afterwards, the entire gearset receives high intensity shot peening to raise the ultimate strength of the gearset, increasing fatigue resistance by over 20-25% while reducing gear wear. High rpm shifts are not a problem because the engagement teeth are modified to increase the window of opportunity. Oil passageways are enlarged to improve oiling and transmission also receives other crowd pleasers: new 3rd & 4th gearset, gear detail work, shot peening of the gears, double synchro 2nd gear, center differential Torrington bearing upgrade, high tension synchro springs and the tough 3rd/4th shift fork.   Click here to learn more on how things get done at TRE.
